Tip of the Day: Read a Bit of Bellow

by Eubie on May 7, 2013

Saul Bellow (1915-2005) is considered, if not THE best American (he was Canadian) fiction writer of the 20th century, then at least one of them. There are several excellent selections to choose from, but for the unrepentant bachelor we recommend Seize the Day (1956), a day-in-the-life story of a man at the end of his rope wandering the streets of Manhattan searching for answers… or was it the questions? You decide, brothers. Either way, Bellow is a master of the sentence, and everybody should check at least one of his books off his list of ‘must-reads’!
