Tip of the Day: Eat Your Kimchi!

The smell may not appeal to many. It’s definitely an acquired taste. And if you already have an ulcer or gastrointestinal troubles, this may not be for you. But aside from these minor ripples, kimchi (김치) is a miracle food–just ask the Korean Food Research Institute, which swears it can cure chickens of the H5N1 avian flu virus–and once you get accustomed to that hot-and-sour sweetness, you’ll make it a part of your regular diet… and you should! Delicious! Nutritious! You’ll get a craving that’s absolutely vicious! Sorry, we’ll dial it back a bit. But seriously, because of our many years in the East, we have a hankering for this fermented festival for the tastebuds that’s as overpowering as its fragrant odor of garlic. Yum!
