Tip of the Day: Go Hawaiian!

Elvis Blue HawaiiSummer is around the corner, and now is as good a time as any to either liberate those Hawaiian shirts from storage or go to the local mart to pick up a couple of breezy prints. Oh, and since we’re on the subject, they actually are called ‘Aloha shirts,’ not Hawaiian shirts (technically speaking). If you’re broke (and we are), you might want to try a few second-hand stores or Goodwill to see if you can find a bargain or two. However, if you’re flush with green then you’ll want to consider the high-end of Aloha shirt fashion, and for that you must check out Reyn Spooner, only because they have the Alfred Shaheen Collection, and Big Al was the guy back in the day who provided Elvis with his signature¬†Blue Hawaii¬†camp shirt.

Pineapple Moon shirtUPDATE: Here at the HUB, we live the by the code of practicing what we preach. With that in mind, we wanted to give you this update on our latest excursion to the local Goodwill, where we were able to pick up this wonderful Aloha shirt by the brand Pineapple Moon for the low, low price of $3. Now we have no way of knowing whether this is a universal flat rate across the wide, wide world of Goodwill stores, but it is the standard price on all shirts at our local shops, regardless of whether they be tees, dress shirts, or what-have-you. So make haste, brothers, and start filling out your wardrobe for the summer fun with a few very inexpensive and snazzy additions today!
