Tip of the Day: Have a Vesper

Vesper_CocktailSummertime, and the livin’ is easy. Or so it should be. And if it’s easy living you seek, nothing says the good life quite like a Vesper martini. Yes, that’s James Bond’s Vesper martini, the first one he ordered way, way back in 1953 when 007 first made his appearance in Ian Fleming’s Casino Royale. The recipe is as follows:

3 measures of Gordon’s gin over ice

1 measure of vodka

1/2 measure of Kina Lillet (blanc)

Shaken (not stirred, of course) well and strained into a champagne goblet.

Garnish with a large lemon peel

Now put your feet up and dream of exotic adventures in far-flung locales with beautiful double agents and a whole world in need of saving!
