Tip of the Day: Beat the Heat

by Eubie on August 7, 2013

Heat kills more people than almost any other weather-related form of death, so says the American Red Cross. August is particularly bad for folks. With that in mind, we’re offering up the Red Cross’s tips for staying alive when the temperatures rise. We’ll leave it to you to review those tips, but we will reduce them all to two fundamental suggestions: 1) be aware of the heat index–check the weather report, that is–and prepare accordingly, and 2) look out for your older (and younger) friends and neighbors, who are the most vulnerable. Save your own life, and maybe do your part to help save someone else’s.
