Tip of the Day: Imp of the Perverse

by Eubie on October 23, 2013

You’re never too old to learn… a sentiment that came to mind when we happened upon this expression–the ‘imp of the perverse–that we’d never heard of before. From our crack team of HUB researchers, we were able to learn that the expression references being bad, doing the wrong thing, being mischievous, etc., etc., etc. Today, give yourself over to your own imp of the perverse. Or as George Costanza once tried, do the opposite of every good impulse that you usually follow and see if you’re happier with the result. If not, you can always stuff that imp back down into your subconscious until you’re ready to let him loose at a time in the future when you’re in a better position to give him free reign.
